Instructions:

Only use liquid paraffin lamp oil, or other oil lamp approved oils such as Danish Clean Green Oil for lamps.

Burn times with oils other than liquid paraffin lamp oil may vary, and other oils may produce more smoke when burnt. Please read all lamp oil instructions carefully and follow their guidelines, as well as our filling instructions. Do not mix different types of lamp oil in the same Recycled Light Bulb Oil Lamp.

Whether you use liquid paraffin lamp oil, or other oil lamp approved oil is a matter of choice for each user. Lamp oil burns cleaner and therefore has almost no odor when it burns. Danish Clean Green Oil uses no petroleum products and is non-toxic and vegetable based. We DO NOT recommend using kerosene in our lamps as it has a distinctive odor that some people don't like - especially in their home, and has NOT been tested in our Recycled Light Bulb Oil Lamp.

The choice of which fuel to burn is yours. However, if you decide to switch to a different fuel after burning one fuel in your lamp, you will need to clean out the bulb carefully and use a new wick. Two fuels should not be mixed. Make sure the wick extends above the metal tip approximately ¼ inch. When the wick needs to be adjusted trim off the end and gently pull up to the correct level with fingers or a pair of pliers. Use care to not damage the metal tip of the wick holder.

To replace the wick: Insert the end with the clear tape into the bottom of the wick holder. Pull the taped end gently through the top with fingers or a pair of pliers. Remove the tape and pull the wick down until you have ¼ inch showing above the top of the wick holder. Use only the wick we provide with the Recycled Light Bulb Oil Lamp. If the oil runs out, the wick will burn down to the metal wick holder tip, and the flame will be extinguished. To re-light the lamp after re-filling with lamp oil, gently twist the wick from the underside while pushing up until the wick is again approximately ¼ inch above the metal tip of the wick holder.

Never fill the Recycled Light Bulb Oil Lamp to overflowing. Lamp oil has a very low surface tension. Temperature variations (and variations of the atmospheric pressure) in the lamp can make the lamp oil creep up the inside of the bulb. Maintain a minimum of 1 inch (2.5 cm) from the top of oil to the bottom of the metal neck of the light bulb. A funnel is recommended when filling the lamp, (such as the one we provide). Let the wick soak for half an hour before lighting the lamp. If the lamp oil spills or leaks down the outside of the bulb, clean off the oil promptly with a tissue, paper towel or other soft absorbent cloth. If lamp oil is allowed to sit and soak into the area where the base meets the bulb, it may detrimentally affect the bond that holds the base and bulb together

You extinguish the oil lamp by blowing out the flame or using a candle snuffer.

Warnings:

In the case of small children, just a sip of lamp oil - or even sucking the wick - may lead to life-threatening lung damage. If lamp oil is swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Seek medical advice immediately or contact a poison control center and show these warnings. Show the doctor the label on the lamp oil bottle.

Keep this oil lamp out of the reach of children both in use and when stored.

NEVER use gasoline, alcohol or other non-recommended flammable liquid.

ONLY use liquid paraffin, or other oil lamp approved oils.

DO NOT put lamp into the dishwasher.

DO be aware of the heat coming from the top of your lighted lamp.

DO consider where you place your lighted lamp.

DO NOT leave your lighted lamp un-attended for any reason.

The metal parts of the lamp will become HOT while lit and will remain HOT for a period of time after extinguishing. Do not touch metal parts of lamp until they have cooled. Do not refill lamp or replace wick until metal parts have cooled to room temperature.

Keep your Recycled Light Bulb Oil Lamp away from other heat sources, sparks and open flames (such as a fireplace); and store at room temperatures of below 120° Fahrenheit.

Do NOT pick up the lamp by the light bulb, ONLY pick up the lamp by the base. The light bulb is very fragile and could break if handled improperly.

If the lamp oil spills or leaks down the outside of the bulb, clean off the oil promptly with a tissue, paper towel or other soft absorbent cloth.

When removing and replacing the light bulb lamp to and from the base, care should be exercised to ensure the strong attraction of the magnets does not cause the bulb and the base to impact, causing possible breakage of the bulb. The light bulb is very fragile and could break if handled improperly.

The Recycled Light Bulb Oil Lamp should not be left outside overnight, or left in a place that it could be easily knocked over, even when unlit. Please treat the light bulb oil lamp as you would any oil lamp, with care.

Magnetic Based Assembly Instructions

For safe shipping your Recycled Light Bulb Oil Lamp© comes packaged in two boxes, one containing the base and bulb magnet and the other containing the light bulb. There is also a zip-lock bag that has the light bulb top insert (with wick already inserted), a spare wick, a funnel and complimentary concrete heart fridge magnet.

•  Read the enclosed Instructions, Warnings and Disclaimers.

•  Remove the lamp base from the small shipping box and detach the small silver magnet from the magnet embedded in the base.

•  Remove the light bulb from it's small shipping box and gently place the small silver magnet inside. DO NOT simply drop the magnet into the bottom of the bulb as this may cause the light bulb to fracture.

•  Place the light bulb carefully onto the base, the magnet inside the light bulb will align with the base magnet and hold the bulb at your desired angle (we recommend no more than 45º from the verticle for stability of the light bulb). Care should be exercised to ensure the strong attraction of the magnets does not cause the bulb and the base to impact, causing possible breakage of the bulb.

•  Visually inspect the light bulb to ensure assembling has not damaged the glass. Using the funnel provided fill the light bulb with lamp oil to the desired level, maintaining a minimum of 1 inch (2.5 cm) from the top of the oil to the bottom of the metal neck of the light bulb.

•  Insert the bulb top plug, wick long end first, into the top of the light bulb.

Let the wick soak for half an hour before lighting the lamp
